We held our AGM this week and Kopila Nepa outlined the number of children and women currently enrolled: - 43 children in the Early Child Development classes, reaching youngsters from local, labouring families. - 140 migrant, working children being educated across 5 satellites classes in the heart of the brickfields. - 10 children in the class specially designed to meet the needs and aspirations of children with Cerebral Palsy. - 12 women enrolled in the 25th sewing training class. This project is so impactful in seeding countless women-led businesses across the Kathmandu Valley.
This Nepali devised and delivered work has been growing for over 26 years, reaching thousands of underserved families. Changing lives.
Today, @KopilaNepa has support from within Nepal and from key partnerships around the world: in Spain, India, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and many more. It started with a friendship, two men with one vision. One in Wrexham and one in Kathmandu.
As the The Brick Children School continues its planned and orderly exit strategy, it’s great to see the Nepali led Kopila Nepa programmes going from strength to strength.
